Let's face it: Some video game music is just plain awesome. If you have a favorite game tune or two, then you can use this thread to post links to streaming video/audio of your favorites to share them with everyone else.

The clip can be the original score or a reinterpretation. As long as the music was, at some point, in some form, in a video game.

I'll start by posting a clip I really like of the OneUps (awesome cover band, btw) playing their rendition of the ToeJam and Earl theme (link), which was an old game for the Genesis with a funk-influenced soundtrack. It's a really amazing tune, and these guys nail it.

Also, notice that later in the video, the keyboardist and drummer smoothly switch places WITHOUT dropping the beat. Now that's impressive.

I've got more to share, but I'll wait and see if anyone else has any or is even interested. =]

Tip for posting YouTube clips directly:

1. Select the "insert flash" button from the tools. (Bottom row, left.)

2. Paste the youtube clip URL between the tags, like so -->
|flash=200,200| http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWIiw3Bml3Y |/flash|

3. Remove the "watch?" and change the "=" to a / like so-->
|flash=200,200| http://www.youtube.com/v/bWIiw3Bml3Y |/flash|

4. Change the 200,200 to 480,385 for standard YouTube dimensions -->
|flash=480,385| http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWIiw3Bml3Y |/flash|

5. Submit!

Yeah, I can see how that beat's really catchy.  Grin

This may be expected coming from me, but Tales of Vesperia was the first US Tales game to finally sport a real opening song, singer included haha. Figured it deserves some appreciation!

Also, this isn't exactly a game song, but it's a fanmade remix of Fatalize from Tales of Symphonia, which in itself is a really awesome song too. But I really liked this rock-style remix too. VERY nice-sounding song for guitar fans!

Also, thanks for the tutorial on posting these. *thumbs up*

Oh, that's interesting. I thought I remembered Tales of The Abyss having vocals in its opening, but then when I saw your post, I went and checked, and sure enough: nope! I guess you're right. =]

First song wasn't really my cup o' tea, but I did like the rock remake on the second one. Rocked it out while facebooking. =]

The VGO's live orchestrated version of "Time's Scar", also known as the opening theme for Chrono Cross, might be one of the greatest video game theme songs ever written. I do know it's the only video game theme song I've shared with my non-gaming friends that they've openly admitted they liked.  Grin

Anyway, these guys have a really cool version where they've spiced up the song by writing in a really fast and difficult accompaniment for the flutist and adding a wicked solo for the lead violinist.

There was actually a much better version of them performing this song, but they deleted it from their channel. (If you check their channel, you can see that their comment thread is almost 100% fans asking them to bring the old vid back.)

The flute, violin, and percussion are twice as good in the one they deleted (who knows why), but this one is still pretty rad. Hope CC fans and non-CC fans alike can enjoy it. =]
